Austri Brewery is an Icelandic brewery and it is one of the first breweries in the east fjords of Iceland. Austri means east and is also the name of one of the four dwarfs holding the sky in Ásatrú, Norse mythology. The sky was created from the head of the jötunn Ýmir. Under each four corners sits a dwarf holding up the sky for eternity. They are AUSTRI, VESTRI, SUÐRI & NORÐRI (east, west, south and north). Therefore, the name has ties to the east and also the sky and mountains. The east of Iceland is known for misty mountains and beautiful landscapes.
